15Km Terrestrial fiber build started from Lefdal Mine Datacenter to Åheim

June 3, 2021

We are investing and partnering with SFE to build the 15km of terrestrial fiber mounted on new high voltage power lines going north from Lefdal Mine Datacenter (LMD) across the mountain to our landing site in the Åheim Tuestranda area. This route is the most direct and fully independent from other back haul fiber connections, providing cross-connectivity in LMD and avoiding other cables around Måløy to the west. The work started mid-May and is scheduled to be ready during 2022.

Good news for ‘N0r5ke Viking’
new international subsea cables confirmed!

March 1, 2025

Lyse/Altibox announced 17 December ’19 the decision to complete both NO-UK, connecting Stavanger to Newcastle (UK), and Skagenfiber, connecting Larvik to Skagen (DK), opening for direct fiber-links to the UK and continental Europe via Denmark. Bulk’s Havfrue connecting Kristiansand with Killala in Co Mayo (Ireland) and New Jersey (USA). This will most likely result in a a level-shift in domestic dark fiber/transport demand, thus very good news for N0r5ke Viking – the most direct and exclusive fiber route connecting western and mid-Norway.
